Our program, are built on the foundation of two outstanding energy programs; Chemical-Gas Engineering and Nuclear Engineering. Chemical-Gas Engineering program has long been recognized as one of the premier Gas Engineering program in the country. The Nuclear Engineering program has a reputation as the first program offered in Malaysia.
Why Study Energy Engineering
Gas engineering is primarily concerned with two main activities:
i) The transformation of raw (hydrocarbon and non hydrocarbon) gases into more usable and marketable products through chemical and physical processes
ii) Storage, transportation, distribution and utilization of processed gases
Among related projects are gas processing, gas distribution & transmission and gas power plant. A combination of gas and chemical engineering courses makes it uniquely distinct engineering discipline. Hence, a graduate is a trained chemical engineer and could easily participate in a wide variety of petrochemical & oleochemical industries and could work in a company such as PETRONAS, SHELL, ESSO, FELDA, Energy Commission of Malaysia (EC), SIRIM, SIME DARBY, DOSH and consulting firms. Chemical-Gas graduates coud also involve in the field of academics through teaching and research activities in university and research institutes.
